Do Good

How many times have we been the brunt of somebody’s insensitive remarks, or gossip or just plain disrespect? For me, it's more than I care to or can even remember.

It's always easy to do something good for our friends and family, but what about those who have hurt us? This verse tells us to do good for the people we know and love, but then it says "everyone else". Who is our everyone else?

It's easy when we encounter someone in need who we barely know and even strangers. But what about that bully at school? What about that co-worker that likes to whisper gossip about you? What about that person who flipped you off on the freeway? Those are some of our "everyone else". We need to rise above our feeble emotions and willfully take the high road to do good for them. That is one way of building up our treasures in heaven.
